Channa Seidenberg (rt.front) teaches participants how to play bordun lyres during a workshop in Awakening Our Listening: A Workshop in Musical Improvisation at The Nacul Center in Amherst, MA in April 2012.
Edie, Lin, and Dorothy practice heaven on earth-- oh, the tones!
We awakened our listening with many instruments during Channa's workshop in April 2012-- shells, wooden sticks, stones, seed pods, tall grasses, gongs, kantelis, iron rods, bordun lyres, and voice.
Here, the group is playing iron rods. When the rods meet in the center of the circle, they chime together beautifully! I took the two photos below by lying on the floor in the center of the circle and pointing the camera toward the ceiling. The sight from that perspective was fabulous-- and the SOUND was amazing!
